Ingredients:
- Oats 1/2 cup
- Leftover yellow dal tadka 2 cups
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
- Garlic cloves chopped 2-3
- Green chilli chopped 1
- Turmeric powder a pinch
- Crushed black peppercorns 1/4 tbsp
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tbsp
- Red chilli flower 1
- Fresh mint (pudina) 1 sprig
Method:
- Heat oil a non-stick wok, add cumin seeds and saute till the colour changes.
- Add garlic and sauté till it turns light brown in colour. Add green chilli and sauté for 15 secs.
- Add oats, 1 cup water and mix well. Add turmeric powder, crushed black pepper, lemon juice and salt and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes or till oats are fully cooked.
- Add leftover yellow dal tadka, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add coriander leaves and mix well.
- Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot garnished with red chilli flower and mint sprig.
