Ingredients:
- 1 cup jowar (white millet) flour
- 1/2 cup finely chopped spring onions whites and greens
- 1 tbsp finely chopped green chillies
- 1 tbsp oil
- salt to taste
- jowar (white millet) flour for rolling
- oil for cooking
For Serving: Fresh Curd
Method:
- Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough hot water.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a 125 mm. (5″) diameter thick circle using a little jowar flour for rolling.
- Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and cook each roti, using a little oil, till brown spots appear on both the sides.
- Serve hot with fresh curds.
Variatons:
Jwar methi roti: Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough hot water. Use methi instead of pyaaz to make jwar methi roti.
Mooli jwar ki roti: Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough hot water. Use mooli instead of pyaaz to make mooli jwar roti.
