Jowar Pyaaz Ki Roti

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup jowar (white millet) flour
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped spring onions whites and greens
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped green chillies
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste
  • jowar (white millet) flour for rolling
  • oil for cooking
For Serving: Fresh Curd

Method:

  • Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough hot water.
  • Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a 125 mm. (5″) diameter thick circle using a little jowar flour for rolling.
  • Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and cook each roti, using a little oil, till brown spots appear on both the sides.
  • Serve hot with fresh curds.

Variatons:

Jwar methi roti: Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough hot water. Use methi instead of pyaaz to make jwar methi roti.
Mooli jwar ki roti: Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough hot water. Use mooli instead of pyaaz to make mooli jwar roti.
