Moringa lentil soup
Ingredients:
- ½ cup soaked lentils (masoor dal, moong dal)
- 2 cups chopped drumsticks
- 2 tbsp dried moringa leaves
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1-2 green chilies, chopped
- 1-inch ginger, chopped
- ¾ tbsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
For tempering:
- ¾ tbsp ghee
- ½ tsp cumin seeds
- 2-3 cloves garlic, chopped
Method (Concise):
- In a pressure cooker, add lentils, drumsticks, onion, tomatoes, green chilies, ginger, turmeric, salt, and water.
- Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
- Blend the mixture to a smooth consistency and strain if desired.
- For tempering, heat ghee, add cumin seeds and garlic, sauté lightly, and pour over the soup.
- Serve hot.
